When should I use a poultry saddle?
Poultry saddles are good for deterring feather pecking and for protecting new feathers as they come through, they are also useful for protecting hens from over zealous cockerels.
How long should I keep the poultry saddle on?
We recommend keeping the poultry saddle on until all the pin feathers have fully come through, this usually takes about 2-3 weeks.
What do I do if the poultry saddle does not stop feather pecking?
Get in contact with our team, you may need to make some changes in your flock dynamics or you could use some peck speck to change habitual behaviours, our chickens experts will be able to advise.
How do I wash it?
Machine washable at 30d
Will it fit my hens?
These saddles are suitable for Silkies, other medium sized hens and bantams, but not tiny bantams like Polish or Sablepoots.

The poultry saddle works as a barrier, protecting new feathers from pecking, or over rubbing from a busy cockerel, they also help to change pecking behaviours.
They are easy to put on, we recommend putting them on at night when the hens are sleepy and docile, you simply pop their wings through the fabric loops so the saddle sits comfortable on the hens back, these are suitable for most breeds.
